Amazon Cooking Tour

05 Days and 04 Nights

 

1st Day: MANAUS/AMAZON FOREST -

Pick-up at 08h00 at hotels or 13h00 or 15h00 at Manaus Airport - Drive to downtown Manaus for a visit to the Opera House, port of Manaus and Markets to learn about Amazonian fishes, vegetable, herbs and all products used in the local gastronomy. Then continue by the bridge to cross Negro river and meet our speed boat. Drive to the Lodge and welcome drink at Trapiche lodge. Before dinner clients are invited for a lesson of how to do a Caipirinha (the Brazilian drink). Dinner and Overnight.

 

2nd Day: AMAZON JUNGLE -

At 7h30am Breakfast at 09h00am Jungle trek - a great experience deep inside the rain forest with exotic nature and thousands of secrets that will be shared with you by our expert ´´mateiro`` guide. 12h30 lunch - buffet style and relax. 15h00 –Reconnaissance tour in the flooded forest Igapós and Igarapés by speed boat including an exciting experience Piranha´s fishing (Our first fishing experience). Sunset at the lodge. If the fishing was a success our first cooking lesson will be Piranha´s soup a very energetic dishe. At 19h00 - Dinner and Night alligator spotting in canoes exploring the surrounding lodge area – Possibility of watch animals by night, like Caimans and birds.

3rd Day: AMAZON JUNGLE -

05H00am wake up for a coffee or tea and then leave at 5h30 for our Amazon Sunrise Tour by canoes exploring the birth of life in the jungle. Return to hotel for breakfast and at 09h00 leave by boat to the Amazonian Red Dolphin base (15 minutes from the lodge) for a very exciting experience: Contact with Red Dolphins in their natural habitats. Return to the lodge and then continue to the rustic Amazonian village of Acajatuba. Lunch with the local community, visit to the village school, to a social project for local families to learn the use of plants, herbs and extracts, to the local market and gardens- a great chance to learn how is life in an authentic Amazonian community. Return on time for dinner at 19h00 Dinner. During dinner there will be a lecture about the preservation project ´´Mamiferos Aquaticos da Amazonia´´ that help protect the Amazon Red Dolphin, Manatees and other fishes. Overnight.

 

4th Day: AMAZON JUNGLE –

Breakfast and whole morning at the lodge´s kitchen for our cooking lesson that will end with a nice lunch cooked by guests with the help of the lodge´s staff/cook. After Lunch hammock relax and end before the end of afternoon a canoe fishing tour will be organized for our farewell dinner. A fish barbecue including the famous and delicious Pirarucu.

 

5th Day: Breakfast at the lodge and departure by speed boat transfer to Ubim lake and drive to the Airport or hotels of Manaus. Departure time will depend on your flight.
